Action Against Hunger

Introduction
The whole world specially Asia is facing food shortage mainly due to over population and lack of resources. Research proves that from 216.6 million population of Pakistan, thousands of people specially children die due to hunger, on daily basis. According to World food Programme (WFP), 43% of Pakistan’s population faces food insecurity. And 18% of them can’t even meet their daily meal requirement. Global hunger index (GHI) has ranked Pakistan on 106 position in the list of 119 countries suffering from food shortage. No doubt the whole Asia including Pakistan is continuously struggling to overcome this shortage alongside some major crises like floods, earth quakes and terror attacks. The current prevailing conditions of covid-19 pandemic has produced worldwide effects and the developed countries have enough resources to overcome their hunger crises. But a developing country like Pakistan who is already lacking enough resources has faced much more adverse effects. The economy of Pakistan is heavily damaged resulting in increased poverty and hunger problems across the country.
Main cause and its solution
Major crises occur due to shortage of food. To make Pakistan more stable or to take it out from famine we have to increase the growth of our food and to increase the agriculture resources. Major crises occur due to shortage of food. The most major problem being faced in Pakistan is lack of food and poverty. And the most major reason behind poverty is lack of food and hunger. According to the survey the most probable answer which every poor person gives is he can’t fulfill his babies and wife food. Every man has not enough money to fulfill the needs of his family. They said that every problem or every need of our could be fulfilled if we didn’t lack food.
In order to find the solution or to find the possible benefit of this major issue I visit two to three houses and asked what the major thing or solution they want to be get out of this poverty and the most useful answer was “if we fulfill our babies with feed easily they can do or achieve anything else they need”. Due to high cost and lockdown we earn nothing in a single day to feed our families.
To make Pakistan more stable or to take it out from famine we have to increase the growth of our food and to increase the agriculture resources. All the progress and economy of Pakistan could be made if we provide access to food to the needy people. Most of the crises could be solved if their shortage of food could be managed.
Steps taken to remove Hunger
A great step has to be taken to remove this hunger. It is a long term project but someone has to take an initial step to start. step by step, area by area and city by city if we start solving this issue we could make Pakistan Hunger free. So my team decided to take action against hunger by every possible means we can do.
Steps and Timeline we made
We made a project timeline how we are going to perform this project and make this solution possible. In the first week we performed a social awareness strategy because it is the most important. This awareness strategy includes making social accounts, questionnaires, specific organization, logo and brochures. The more awareness we create the number of people would join us which could help in donations and more awareness. After this it will turn into a successful organization which would start donating and raising funds and also interact with other organizations to make its chain strong and to establish it in other cities. Day by day this chain would become more strong and then we could cover all our cities of Pakistan and make Pakistan a Hunger free country.
Progress we made first week:
As our first week is to spread social awareness. Every member played an important role and made this progress possible. We arranged meetings and assigned different tasks to each other about how and when we are going to do that. We also prioritize which task is most important to do now and which could be done later.
For social awareness we have to create some brochures, social media pages, some introductory slides, organization name and logo. To convince people and to create a long chain of this organization we decided to arrange a webinar and to survey a questionnaire form through which the people could know how Pakistani peoples are being affected by Hunger and how they can help them against this. So firstly we by all member decisions and suggestions we named the organization as “Helping Hands”. So one by one every member plays an important role to make every person familiar with “Helping Hands” . We together made a lot of efforts like making a logo and brochures of this organization. We created social media pages and then we arranged a webinar for more awareness. The struggle and efforts made by every member to make this possible are as follows.
Aleena Razzaq: I am providing my services as Graphic Designer in this project. I made pamphlets for the webinar that we are going to arrange next week. This pamphlet will be used to gather an audience for the webinar. I also made a pamphlet that will introduce our team and spread awareness among people of our organization’s noble cause. During this work I got a lot of encouragement from my team members. From this experience, I am learning how to be a better team player and add value to the team. I also made our organization logo.
Seema Javed: This week we were preparing for a webinar. My task was to build a bridge over the bridge. I was supposed to make key points of the content in the presentation and citation of relevant quotes. I also proofread the presentation for the webinar made by my talented fellows. I would like to state it pleasingly that we are a complete team in which every member is master in his or her work and everyone is practicing beyond his will. I am also available for every task whenever they want my help. We are very passionate about our upcoming tasks of the mega project.

Isha Noor: I worked on content writing for the webinar that we are going to arrange in the coming week. This content will be used in presentation slides of webinar and for our mega presentation. I wrote about some factual information that brought the idea of this project in our minds and our group leader Ahmed helped me a lot in this regard. Also I wrote an introduction to our project and how we are going to establish our organization. I also mentioned short summary of work that our group has done so far and
our future goals for completion of the project. I will continue providing my services wherever needed in the completion of this project. I assure my full participation as an active member and will give my best in future to come up with a best mega project.
Maham Rafhan: I told people about our project on social media this week. I stressed the importance of equitable food delivery to the people. And the scope of our project will enable us to reach out to those who are most in need. After enriching the people with an equitable distribution of food, I informed them of our project’s greatest challenge, which is fundraising. I asked people who had my contact information to contribute as much as they could to our initiative, and that’s how I got money from them.
M. Ehtsham: My services for this mega project is as a social media campaigner for fundraising. As I am doing this work I also have to find cases of poor and needy people for their help. I will also work as a team player in my circle. As I will find cases I will also analyze and collect the feedback after execution of our plan. I also collected some data of poor people for whom we are going to help next week.
Mafia Mukhtar: I created a social media page which would be beneficial for our organization to gather more people for volunteering, fundraising and to take our organization to the national level. I daily post about our events and progress on these pages. I wrote about some factual information that brought the idea of this project into our minds . Also I created an awareness of our project and how we are going to establish our organization. I also mentioned a short summary of work that our group has done so far and our future goals for completion of the project. I will continue providing my services wherever needed in the completion of this project. I assure my full participation as an active member and will give my best in future to come up with the best mega project
Ahmad Raza: As we are working on social awareness this week. So the main solution to make people familiar with the organization we have to go door to door to spread awareness and to share our objective. It not only helps in finding who needs these hands most, also helps in collecting the funds. And it urged people to ponder about the current situation of the country due to hunger and to think about the people who have been affected. I made the questionnaire form from which we collected information about the poor peoples in our area and also we got to know how much people are interested in removing this hunger. I also did a non profitable act to create social awareness. I distribute “Rice Box” to the people to help them to understand what “Helping Hand” is and what is our main objective. And to create this awareness socially I created introductory slides for our webinar. I will keep practicing every fruitful step to make this organization stable and to make Pakistan Hunger free.
Pitch for our motive: “Helping Hands” comes up with some thoughtful views that we ignore in our daily life. A lot many people in our neighborhoods can’t even sleep due to their hungry stomach. They can’t be evaluable addition to our society just because they are busy fighting for their basic life necessities. Also there are some people having the potential to do a lot but lack resources to start their work. “Helping hands” is a platform to urge people to follow the teachings of Islam. Care for the people around you as they are the same to Allah as you are. As our beloved prophet Muhammad (SAW) has stated : “Among the best deeds are to feed the poor and the deserving and to greet those whom you know and those whom you don’t know.” So come out now and share your part in building a healthier Pakistan as better late than never. Start donations and prove yourself a true follower of Islam.
Summary: The aim of this movement is to spread awareness and grow a stronger community where people are able to support themselves and help other people in need. So we all participated and did our best to play an important role in removing hunger in Pakistan. From these fruitful efforts we collected 15000 for our project and we will keep increasing it through these efforts. These efforts and accomplishments are encouraging and motivating us more to take a prospective role in society welfare and help the community as much as we can. Through this enthusiasm we will link to other different NGOs and organizations which are also doing the same role. It would help our organization to grow more and we could collect funds in a large amount. And then after collecting funds we in the next week start distributing “Rashan Bags” to the needy people and also provide a business startup to one needy family.
